General Admission tickets for the 2012 Melbourne Cup Carnival once released, will be on sale through Ticketmaster.
General Admission tickets will also be available at Flinders Street, Southern Cross and North Melbourne railway stations, closer to the event.
Please make sure that you pre-purchase your general admission tickets before you get to Flemington Racecourse, as the Melbourne Cup Carnival is a fully ticketed event.
It is likely tickets will sell out as the Melbourne Cup Carnival is one of Australia’s biggest sporting events. Therefore, it is advised to purchase tickets early to avoid disappointment. Stay tuned to our website for the ticketing release date.
The General Admission area incorporates the unrestricted areas around the Racecourse and provides you with the opportunity to experience racing close to the track from a wide range of vantage points. General admission tickets allow patrons to access all general public areas including public lawn, public betting ring, Under croft (dining and betting facilities) and public bars.
A General Admission ticket does not entitle the purchaser to a seat within a Grandstand or Corporate Facility and also excludes the purchaser from all Members’ Areas.
Public seating is available on a first-come-first-served basis, on the Ground Level beneath the Lawn Stand in the Undercroft, East End. Alternatively to avoid disappointment, we recommend that you book Reserved Grandstand Seating to secure a seat for the day.
In 2011, children aged 16-17 paid the concession price upon presentation of a current student secondary or tertiary photo ID card.
Please note: In 2011, on Emirates Stakes Day, tickets needed to be pre-purchased for children.
Children aged five years and under were admitted free of charge.
During the Melbourne Cup Carnival, we also have several highly popular non-raceday events that you can attend. Stay tuned for more information on these as we get closer to Carnival!
