The Melbourne Cup Carnival concludes its festivities with Emirates Stakes Day. The 'family day' of the Carnival features Victoria's premier 1600m event, the $1,005,000 Group One Emirates Stakes, and the scorching $1,002,500 weight-for-age Patinack Farm Classic.
Emirates Stakes Day is the fastest growing day of the four-day Carnival with more than 85,112 racegoers attending in 2011. The meeting, which features Emirates Stakes Day Fashions on the Field, has a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere.
The final day of the Carnival is all about relaxed style, and the opportunity for the young ones to shine. For some, it is the day to deck out the little ones in the latest junior fashions, while for others it is simply a day to have fun with friends and family.
The official flower for Emirates Stakes Day is the Red Rose.
Located in the al fresco Banks Precinct, all the action for
kids this year will be at the new Zone - a FREE
fun-filled entertainment zone for families and children to spend the day together at Emirates Stakes Day.
There will be a wide variety of age-specific activities for kids including art and craft activities, roving entertainers, mini golf, carousel, rides, an animal farm and more!
The Teen Lounge, complete with couches, arcade games, dance machine and photo booth, will be the place to hang out.
Food and drink outlets, as well as tables and chairs, and grass areas for picnic blankets will be available for everyone to use and enjoy.
Mum’s and Dad’s are not forgotten - there will be tote facilities, bookmaker and a large superscreen to watch the races - while the kid's are having fun in The Zone!
The Phar Lap Club: Children aged under 12 can also sign up to join our free kid's club on the day.
