Flemington Green Fields (FGF) is dedicated to raising awareness of environmental sustainability and the VRC's sustainability programs.
Melbourne Award 2011
The VRC’s Flemington Green Fields sustainability initiative was recognised with the Melbourne Award for Contribution to Sustainability at a gala event at the Melbourne Town Hall on Saturday 27 August 2011.
This is a prestigious honour, confirming the VRC as an industry leader in the environmental management of major events.
The initiative has raised awareness of environmental sustainability and delivered tangible reductions to the environmental impact of our operations and especially the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
This is our second Melbourne Award in as many years, with the Melbourne Cup Carnival honoured in the Contribution to Melbourne’s Profile category in 2010.
Flemington Green Fields Day
Flemington Green Fields Day is held annually. In 2012, it was held on Saturday 5 May 2012.
It celebrates the FGF initiatives at Flemington, as well as being a great day of racing.
