Judd back on track for spring fashion
24 August 2011
Myer Racing Ambassador Rebecca Judd will make her first public appearance since having her first child last month, at one of Melbourne’s most anticipated events - the Flemington Spring Fashion Lunch - on Thursday 1 September.
Headlined by Judd and fellow ambassador Kris Smith, the glamorous luncheon will showcase Myer’s spring trends and welcome the new racing season in style, with more than 800 fashionable guests expected to descend on Flemington.
Glamour couple Jess Sinclair and Chantelle Delaney will make their first official appearance as the 2011 Myer Fashions on the Field Ambassadors, offering their hot tips for the Melbourne Cup Carnival. Having recently been appointed to the highly sought after role, the couple can’t wait to dress in their finest Myer racewear and play a part in Australia’s largest outdoor fashion event, Myer Fashions on the Field at Flemington.
“Jess and I are absolutely delighted to be working with the VRC and Myer as ambassadors for Myer Fashions on the Field. We are both passionate about fashion and racing so it’s an incredible opportunity to be part of this year’s Melbourne Cup Carnival and celebrate fashion at Flemington,” said Ms Delaney.
Myer will showcase its 2011 Spring Racing Collection on the catwalk and offer guests a unique opportunity to preview the latest trends by leading designers from Australia and overseas including Arthur Galan AG, Aurelio Costarella, Catherine Malandrino, Fleur Wood, Manning Cartell, Perri Cutten (celebrating 30 years in fashion), sass & bide and Yeojin Bae. Master milliners including Richard Nylon, Jane Lambert, Kerri Stanley and Philip Treacy will complete the looks with this season’s millinery must haves.
Hosted by Channel Seven’s Matt White from Today Tonight and Samantha Armytage from Weekend Sunrise, the event will feature an interview with special guest Stephen Curry, the star of the upcoming movie release The Cup, which was recently filmed at Flemington. Directed by Simon Wincer, the movie is based on the emotional Melbourne Cup win by champion jockey Damien Oliver, played by Curry, to be released in cinemas on 13 October 2011.
The fun doesn’t stop there, as guests will witness an exclusive performance by cast members of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Love Never Dies: Ben Lewis as the Phantom and Anna O’Byrne as Christine.
The Flemington Spring Fashion Lunch officially marks the start of the highly anticipated spring racing season, as Flemington hosts Sofitel Girls’ Day Out featuring the Makybe Diva Stakes on Saturday 3 September.
