Crown Oaks Day launched in style

It was all about the ladies today as the Victoria Racing Club launched Crown Oaks Day for 2011, and celebrated this year’s edition of the Ultimate Style Guide by Grazia.
The launch took place at one of Melbourne’s most stylish venues and new addition to Crown’s premium dining restaurants: The Den at The Atlantic.
Hosted by Crown on behalf of the VRC and Grazia, famous faces in attendance included:

The sophisticated event celebrated the ultimate style and elegance of Crown Oaks Day, reinforced this year by the highly anticipated visit from style queen herself, Crown’s VIP guest, Ms Sarah Jessica Parker who will be visiting for the premiere of her new film ‘I don’t know how she does it’.
Guests were given an exclusive insight into the Ultimate Style Guide by Grazia and the initiatives which will be replicated oncourse at Flemington on Crown Oaks Day.
VRC Executive General Manager Brand, Sponsorship and Marketing, Ms Fleur Salisbury, said the VRC was very excited to celebrate the unique attributes that make Crown Oaks Day- The Ultimate Style Day - the traditional ladies’ day at Flemington, an iconic fixture of the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
“Crown Oaks Day at Flemington is a special day for ladies and provides women of all generations the opportunity to express their own signature style. Once again, Grazia have created the ultimate accessory for Crown Oaks day in this year’s Style Guide,” Ms Salisbury said.
Crown Oaks Day-themed fashions, styled by Grazia in affiliation with Myer and highlighting key trends for the 2011 Melbourne Cup Carnival, were paraded in a splash of colour, romantic floral prints and floaty fabrics.
Flemington’s famous ‘Gentlemen to Help’ assisted by providing a fashion must-have - the Ultimate Style Guide by Grazia - straight from their bookie bags.
Crown Oaks Day, traditionally known as ‘ladies day’, is a celebration of femininity and elegance. While on the track the 3YO fillies are put to the ultimate staying test in the Group 1 Crown Oaks.
The National Final of the Myer Fashions on the Field Women’s Racewear competition is decided on Crown Oaks Day, reinforcing its significance on the fashion calendar.
Visitors to Flemington on the day should remember to wear a pink rose, the official flower of Crown Oaks Day.
