Adelaide shines for Myer Fashions on the Field State Final
10 August 2011
On a stunning, sunny Adelaide Cup Day, style shone brightest with Louise Panas taking out the 2011 South Australian final of Myer Fashions on the Field competition in a classically elegant ensemble of cream and latte tones. She stole the show with her winning look, which included a latte-coloured satin sleeveless top with cream Chantilly lace detail paired with a high-waisted cream skirt cut on the bias with a fashionable bow at the back.
Panas accompanied her self-designed outfit with a beautifully crafted cream hat by Amanda Mercer. The exquisite piece was incredibly involved with cream and latte ribbon intertwining on its loose weave cream sculpture. The look was completed her look with all the right raceday accessories; patent leather shoes, cream woollen gloves and a cream lace clutch.
117 fashion hopefuls competed at Morphettville in the SA leg of the National Myer Fashions on the Field competition. With the prestigious title comes a nine-day trip of a lifetime for two, valued at more than $10,000, to experience the entire 2011 Melbourne Cup Carnival and compete in the National Final of Myer Fashions on the Field on Crown Oaks Day – the Ultimate Style Day.
Panas and a guest will enjoy the ultimate Melbourne Cup Carnival experience, with full VIP treatment including luxury accommodation at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins and raceday transfers. They will be entertained in the Myer Marquee in Flemington’s famous Birdcage enclosure on Emirates Melbourne Cup Day and Crown Oaks Day, and attend exclusive Victoria Racing Club events.
South Australia’s first runner-up was Jennifer Marsh from Naracoorte, who also impressed the judges with her self-designed look, featuring a full-skirted 50’s style dress in a wild horse print fabric, complemented by a beige straw pill-box with a twisted wire disc and raw silk cream bow.
Bobbi Edwards from Mildura was second runner-up in a single-sleeved floral print silk top with an olive green slim-line pencil skirt and tan lace-up heels. She wore a cream and tan woven headband with subtle floral detail and carried a cream pillbox handbag made from a vintage leather jewellery box.
The 2011 Myer Fashions on the Field National Competition will head to NSW for the next State Final at Myer Mad About the Hat Day at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday 24 September.
