Media dress code
The Victoria Racing Club (VRC) has special dress regulations for the Members Enclosure at Flemington racecourse on racedays.
Special dress requirements must be adhered to when entering the Members' Enclosure. These dress codes apply to all visiting journalists, freelance writers or photographers who want to visit the Members Enclosure for work purposes on a Flemington race day.
Please be aware that the VRC does not provide any clothing to meet these requirements.
- Gentlemen and boys over 14 are required to wear a suit, sports coat or blazer, plus tie.
- Ladies and girls over 14 are expected to maintain a suitable standard in keeping with the dignity of the Members' Enclosure.
- Children accompanied by an adult must be suitably attired.
The following items of clothing are not acceptable:
- Any form of sports shoe, sandals, thongs, dilapidated footwear, scuffs or slippers
- Jeans, jodhpurs, shorts or non-tailored slacks
- Parkas, windbreakers, tracksuit tops, waist length jackets including bomber jackets, driz-a-bones, denim jackets
- Safari suits, tracksuits
- Peaked caps, beanies
- Pullovers or cardigans (without a jacket), rugby tops and football guernseys.
