Held on AAMI Victoria Derby Day, the one-day only Men's Racewear category is now in its ninth year, and regularly attracts over 200 well dressed male racegoers. The competition continues to grow in popularity each year and has seen a high calibre of entrants sporting a variety of suiting, extravagant shirt & tie combinations and the emergence of the hat in recent years - proving that "Fashions on the Field" is not just for the ladies.
Registration
Only a limited number of registrations will be taken on the day but if you register now you will go in the draw to win a fabulous prize.
Note: There are no interstate competitions for Men's Racewear for Myer Fashions on the Field

Contestant Criteria
Male contestants must fulfil the following criteria and acknowledge that they understand and agree to abide by the criteria as they register in order to enter MYER Fashions on the Field:
- Contestants must be 18 years of age or more.
- Contestants and/or their outfits are not permitted to have any commercial agenda.
- Contestants must not receive any compensation from a third party for entering.
- Contestants who progress to the Grand Final must agree to sign a Finalist Criteria (see below) document prior to the commencement of the Grand Final.
- Prize-winners are not permitted to transfer their prizes to a third party.
Judging Criteria
A panel of judges will base their votes on the following Men's Racewear Criteria:
- Style and originality
- Appropriateness of the outfit for the Melbourne Cup Carnival and the individual
- Attention to detail with accessories (e.g. hat, lapel flower etc)
- Understanding and interpretation of the current fashion trends
- Grooming and deportment
- Suitability of the outfit for the climate
Finalist Criteria
Contestants that make it into a Men's Racewear "Final" will be asked to fill in a Finalist Criteria Form prior to taking part in that final. The finalist criteria includes:
- Finalists must not make any alterations to any of their garments from their first to their final appearance in the 2009 MYER Fashions on the Field competition. Any alterations to garments will result in disqualification from the competition.
- Finalists who fail to appear in their next appropriate "final" will be disqualified from the competition.
- Finalists must not receive any payment or compensation from a third party for entering.
- Finalists who win prizes agree not to transfer any of them to a third party.
- Finalists who win the Grand Final agree to be available for a minimum of six appearances in relation to the MYER Fashions on the Field competition during 2009/2010.

By pre registering for the Men's Racewear competition, you will automatically be placed in the draw to win a "carnival styling package" including a half day shopping expedition with leading Melbourne stylist Franco Schifilitti and a $1,500 Myer Gift Card.
The Men's Racewear final winner of 2009 Myer Fashions on the Field will receive a fantastic prize including a Lexus RX 350 drive vehicle for twelve months valued at $22,000.

Pre Registration Draw
The competition opens on 03/09/09 at 12.00pm and closes at 5.00pm on 29/10/09. The draw will take place at Flemington Racecourse, Flemington Drive, off Epsom Road, Flemington Vic 3031 at 1.50pm on 10/11/09. Winners will be notified by phone, mail and published in The Australian on 03/12/09. The Melbourne Cup Carnival logo is TM, Victoria Racing Club Limited (ACN 119 214 078).
